AN ECLECTIC “WALDORF INSPIRED” HOMESCHOOL GROUP

Formally Lupine Kids

Lupine Family Homeschoolers, founded in 2000, is going on its ninth year as nature-inspired, community-minded, mostly media-free homeschool group for kids born in ‘00/’01 and ‘94 thru ’97. We are an intimate group of families who meet each week currently on Mondays in San Mateo county from 10:30 to 2:30.

Lupine Family Homeschoolers was inspired by the story “Miss Rumphius”, by Barbara Cooney. Miss Rumphius, known as the Lupine Lady, was encouraged by her grandfather to find a way to make the world a more beautiful place. In the end, she chose to plant Lupine seeds everywhere she went. Each spring more and more Lupines grow to beautify the landscape. The parents of Lupine Family Homeschoolers want to make the world a more beautiful place by providing a nurturing and empowering space for our kids to be together, in hopes that they, too, will go out and make the world more beautiful.

Please do visit a couple of times, and get to know us!

We have a wonderful group of kids and mamas working and playing together at Lupines. Please contact us if you have any questions. Maybe your family will be a good fit as well!

This year, a few of the activities the senior kids will be participating in are: learning about the Renaissance through art, making a solar water heater, helping to build and act in a haunted house, and participate in a circus performance.

The junior kids will be doing rich activities as well...gingerbread houses, woodworking, caroling, working with a movement teacher, gardening and so much more.
